Pentecostal theology and biblical studies (E) - Academische bachelor
This course provides a solid theological education and prepares the students for entering different ministries of the Church and teaching courses related to Christian theology and practice inside and outside the Church establishment. It also introduces the students to personal research in the areas of instruction through the courses, the seminars and the assigned theological research papers.
As a Seminary we aim to provide you with an environment where you will be able to prepare yourself for future involvement in a range of Christian ministries or employment opportunities where you will be able to use your academic knowledge and practical skills developed while studying here. Specifically, we expect that you will develop the ability to think clearly about theological issues in Christian life and ministry and that you will be able to demonstrate clear communication skills. This will happen by you becoming aware of the issues related to the development, thought and practice of Christianity and will result in you being able to apply this knowledge and continue in further research according to your own interests and abilities.
Church Music specialisaton
Music and worship is at the heart of the local church. The CTS Church Music Specialization is designed to prepare students to be effective leaders of a local church worship ministry. The program complements the B.A. in Bible and Theology, by combining theological aspects, musical training, ministry leadership and hands on experience. In addition to Bible and Theology courses, students following the music specialization receive both group and private music lessons, music theory and history courses, worship team experience in CTS chapel services, concert touring ministry experience with the CTS Singers, as well as organizational and leadership training.
Missiological specialisation
Is designed to help the student concentrate his/her studies in the area of Missions as well as obtain adequate and sufficient knowledge in the major fields of Bible and Theology. It enables the students to effectively communicate the Christian vision to a multi-cultural and multi-religious society by being aware of the history and challenges of Evangelical missions as well as to formulate guidelines and strategies for church growth. The program also introduces students to personal research in areas in which they are taught through courses, seminars, and assigned theological research papers. This stage also serves as an introduction to later study.
Biblical language specialisation
Is designed to help the student concentrate his/her studies in the area of Biblical languages as well as obtain adequate and sufficient knowledge in the major fields of Bible and Theology. This first cycle academic program is structured in such a way that the student may gain a meaningful exposure to Biblical Hebrew and Biblical Greek disciplines. The degree provides a solid theological education, which would prepare the students for entering different ministries in the Church, and to teach Christian Religion inside and outside the Church establishment. It will introduce the students to personal research in the areas of instruction through the courses, the seminars and the assigned theological research papers.
